Pass H.R. 40 — Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals
H.R. 40 would establish a federal commission to study the history and lasting effects of slavery and racial discrimination in the United States, and to recommend reparation proposals. First introduced by Rep. John Conyers Jr. in 1989, the bill has been re-introduced in every Congress since. The National African-American Reparations Commission and the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N'COBRA) coordinate the policy and organizing coalition.
